It must be clear by now that Malaybalayan just came from a travel which was so successful. The wish is there to make it possible to would-be travellers to have a glimpse of what makes a travel succeed even before it happens.
Why do travels not succeed is the way to know why it succeeds. These are some of thequestions that must be asked and the answers should be positive.
One: Does the travelling group have a team of planners. These planners prepare the itinerary to a T such that research is part of its preparation. They assign among themselves what every item must be implemented. Nothing is left to chance.
Second: When the journey begins, is there a leader according to the need of the moment? For example, who gets the map upon arriving in the airport of Hongkong or Singapore or Macau? Does he/she know how to read the map? Can this person be relied upon in following directions especially in how to go about the MRT tours and rides? If the group is "lost" who keeps up the morale?
Third: Who holds the purse? Should there be extra money needed, is there someone who can supply it epecially because the group is in a foreign country. Does this  person have a credit card?
Fourth: Does someone become the cheer leader if there is need for pep talk? Who says it is time to rest and breathe more deeply and easily?
Fifth: Does someone care to find out if the food is delicious or is there need to go to a familiar place like MacDonald or Kentucky Fried Chicken if the food served seems too chinese or too foreign for a filipino taste?
Sixth: Is there a photographer who knows how to give justice to the magnificent views and sites that the group may never be able to visit again or if ever, only after two years or so?
Seventh: Do you pray once in a while for the many good things that have been happening especially the good weather, the safe journey, the good health, the problem-free immigration procedure and the like?
Eighth: Did you come home intact as a group with smiles on your lips even if every part of your body is aching of fatigue?
There are many more questions but these eight will do and in fact are already difficult to fill you man not want to travel after all.

So have a safe trip and God bless!

Travels are for everyone so why not travel? For some, it may not be immedite what with the infants and the very young kids who occupy the minds of young moms. Precisely because of this scenario, young mothers can already begin planning when the travels will be once the infants become children and the children become old enough to travel.

Think about this: Travels make you  forget if only for a week what made you travel in the first place. What does this mean? It means sooner or later life will become stressful - more or less - and to catalyze it is to let it run its course and leave it - by travelling and seeing other milieus and scenery. More than not you come home refreshed, renewed and more open to the other facets of what gave you the stress and other ways of looking at it.

So travel - and travel soon before you end up physically weak to enjoy only travels provide to strengthen even the weak bones and the "slow puts".

"Sometimes the realization of holding on to the original family escapes you until one day you wake up alone and lonely."

"We must leave our comfort zone sometimes for it is in leaving that we learn to treasure what has been taken for granted."

Wishing tree- in Macau where we visited the Buddha shrine - as a family. Only God and Buddha heard my wish for each of my four kids turn professionals. May the wishes come true in God's time.

When one is in a strange land, you feel incapacitated and in fear for faces are strange to you but when you are with your family - there is nothing to feel incapacitated nor fear at all. You are with your family.

So many times we are caught up with our daily problems, travelling is farthest from our minds more so if expenses are thought of in advance. This is where children who have become professionals and are not yet married can play more acive roles. You will make your parents very proud and extremely excited to see all the kids take over: from the planning to the implementing to the spending and  just taking over and be the one in-charge. It is such a joy to  see them do their respective tasks and all the parents can do is smile and thank God for such generous and responsible children of then world and of God.

Got to see the world as a family

Kids  you've now grown
Before your own children come
Let the original family be together for once
And see the world as one

Bring it on: Pa, Ma, Ate, Kuya, Diko and Bunso
Got to see the world as family, as one
It can be Cebu, Bohol,Boracay, Davao
and later Hongkong, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur

You may wonder why wander
When the home is the place to be
Why not stay put and avoid the expense
Your answer lies when the travel finally comes

Guaranteed it is that when you do travel as a family
Each member comes home better and more able to see a bigger world
Better grasp why people differ and yet are greatly similar
We view the world from eyes that are more open

Avail of Cebu Pacific's great discounts
Then there is Air Philippines too.
Do not take too long for Papa and Mama
May not be physically and chronologically strong

Do not take too long then
Plan and save even now
And join me in the challenge
Go and see the world as a family.

This route: Cagayan de Oro City - Cebu City- Hongkong- Macau - Hongkong-Cebu- Cagayan de Oro City was the focus of Teacher's teacher in her most recent trip. It was a trip that she is so sure not to happen again for quite a time. It was a trip of her "senior citizen phase" with her four children all turned professionals and decided to still stay single. It was a trip that erased the notion that the children whom we insist on seeing as children still put the parents on their toes for painful it may seen, they are now the prime movers of the world they have "conquered" and are still conquering.

According to experts, tsunami occurs when there is sudden movement at the bottom of the sea thereby causing friction of the "fault" and forcing the waves to move upward to as high as it can go. In the case of Japan, the 8.9 magnitude is the intensity of the movement and the waves that went up, went as high as 100 plus miles upwards. The data may be simplistic so may not be as scientific as it was intended but it would suffice to say that great damage had been done. When CNN showed it, the boats, the buildings, all other objects that got on its way were literally turned into rubble or were pushed to as far as it came from.

The "science" of everyday life, however, does not dwell much on the physical movements that go down under water. Rather, it focuses on the depth of realization that haunts every believer and drives him/her to question the extent of preparedness to meet the Maker if the tsunami were to happen and death was inevitable,
Teacher's teacher is trying to make something of both if only to stay sane and hopeful that things happen to remind us that this world is not meant to become perfect. Only that which is perfect can become one.

The call is always upon us to face our own "tsunamis" in life especially now that even the nuclear plant of Japan has caught fire. The challenge is now more intense since many countries will be affected, if not geographically then economically. Underdeveloped countries, like the Philippines, will always suffer more the consequences like oil increase which will now a valid reason to go on increasing.

While attention is on tsunamis,  we should not totally forget another "tsunami" - kind of problem in Libya. The turmoil may not be about water but the anger and dissatisfaction of the Libyans towards their leaders. The Filipinos, who were forced to leave Libya, had to come home to a country where they felt they do not have good future in terms of employment if they had their way, they would have remained in Libya even it e was dangerous.

Life tells us that science or not, the one gift which should never be taken for granted is every person's life. For what it is worth: We are made  in the image and likeness of the Creator of everything.

CNN always delivers such that like the tsunami that hit Japan- its effects and damages are seen in every way: video, audio, still pics and the like. For teachers, the materials are exactly what are considered beyond books. Teachers can almost imagine every pupil and student transfixed as they hold on to what is being shown, teaching them in live color what a tsunami is and how it destroys everything that gets in its way.

For the onlookers, you might think it is awesome but for the victims, it means life or death.
Worst quake in Japan's history:8.9 in intensity. Tragedies of any kind always remind us "how fragile life is" according to U.S. President, Barack Obama.

Life, however, has to go on. This is where you and I can do something - big or small. Like the teachers in the Professional Studies Division, College of Teacher Education, plan to resume the rosary time daily - which is timely since the season of Lent has begun.

May God take care of Japan and the whole of mankind.
